WELCOME TO THE TEAM! We are fortunate to have your aspiring athlete on our roster.
SELECT is currently not a full travel program. This meaning we do not offer all grades and genders. However we do our best to offer a quality travel program for athletes who wish to face competition outside of the scope of Journeyman.
SELECT is a program different from Journeyman and JHAWKS current teamwork sessions. The SELECT program offers training through practices, tournament basketball games and often, a higher level of competition.
Keep in mind that unlike Journeyman sessions, game schedules are not posted on our current calendar but practices are.
Practices for these SELECT teams will start in March. These posted times can be found on the website calendar. Practices will me spotty in March but set on a repeating schedule for April and May. This schedule will reflect a practice commitment 2 times per week. All practices are currently posted for 315 Banfield Rd Portsmouth NH. (Journeyman's home court) Please help us hold your student athlete responsible for knowing these practice times.
The tournament schedule expected to start early April and go until the end of May. Staff will ensure parents know where to go for posted weekend tournament schedules but not provide them directly. This will include mostly local tournaments (Examples: Hampton, Derry & Southern Maine) with one hotel stay tournament. Each team is budgeted for 5 tournaments. An extra 1 day tournament may be added. Actual locations of gymnasiums and game times are never known much before the Wednesday before the tournament weekend and often not until Friday morning.
Your registration costs cover the following:
- Insurance
- Tournament Fees
- Staff Stipends
- Facility Fees for Practice
- Uniforms & added apparel
(meaning you will not be charged for additional gear)
- Admin & a team meal concluding the season.
NOTE: SELECT asks that ALL registering PAY IN ADVANCE. Journeyman will not keep funds for services not provided. A small fee of 7-10% must be retained to cover shareware, credit card and insurance fees that Journeyman can not recover. Keep in mind that uniform fees are not refundable.
A list of expected tournaments should be posted by mid March. Program leads are Andry Kasprzak, Jimmy Flynn and JP Sanborn. They can be contacted if you need more information at 603.234.5553. During the day it is best to text and he will reply when afforded the opportunity.
It is best that the individual team coach provide each of the members on their roster with their contact information.
NOTE: We know travel is expensive. Please keep in mind that no profit is made from uniform or apparel sales. Also keep in mid that this fee covers EVERYTHING! All athletes are provided with a team dinner and apparel built in to the cost.
